Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP): Also known as Living Well with Chronic Conditions
10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Tuesdays (until June 27)
No fee, donations appreciated.
Location: Game Room
CDSMP is a 6 week, 2.5 hour workshop that focuses on supporting and providing tools to those living with or caring for someone with a chronic health condition. During the workshop, participants learn from two trained co-leaders and each other on how to better manage their chronic health conditions through nutrition, exercise, problem solving, and other self-management skills. Participants who graduate from the program are given a Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions book and Relaxation for Mind and Body CD to help them continue building their skills and self-management both during and after the workshop.

What’s Up, What’s New - What Do I Want to Do in Retirement?

Each screening is introduced by one of our movie experts, and informational fliers about each film are available for viewers to take with them."

What's Up, What's New - Speaking about Dying

“There are no right or wrong answers about end-of-life issues.  You are the only expert on planning for your own death.” – Trudy James.  “Speaking of Dying”, is a short film dedicated to the idea that we can all have a better death.  This film introduces you to individuals and families, doctors, and other professionals, whose words and stories beautifully illustrate the benefits of speaking openly about the end of life before there is a crisis. month, and settle in to listen to short stories, essays, and poetry read by librarians from the Richmond Beach and Shoreline Libraries.  The guest librarian will select some favorites to read to you and then open the floor to anyone who has a tale of their own to tell.  At the end of each session you can help us decide what to read next month!  There will be tea and cookies served to make for a lovely summer time story hour.  Let us know if you'll be coming.
